Steve Hampson has been gardening since the age of three when he and his parents moved into their house with a large yard on Long Island. He received a Bachelor of Science degree in Plant Science from the University of Delaware and a Master of Science degree in Horticulture from Penn State University. He subsequently became co-owner of a farm market in western Pennsylvania with a nineteen-acre apple orchard, five acres of vegetables and strawberries, and a greenhouse operation. Steve moved to California and joined Roger’s Gardens in 2003 and has since become an accredited judge and a Regional Director for the Pacific Region of the American Daffodil Society. He currently leads a monthly seminar on edible gardening at Roger’s Gardens and has special interests in daffodils, sweet peas, water lilies, orchids and just about any other green plant.
