Native Plants Save Water and Create Habitats

Water Conservation

We support and encourage the use of California native plants throughout our public and private landscapes. Planting California natives will save water, reduce maintenance and pesticide use and support wildlife and biodiversity. Plants, especially locally native plants, are the foundation of the world’s food webs. Mass extinctions and a loss of biodiversity are among our greatest challenges.

We encourage all residents to restore
a sense of place to our communities,
provide important habitat for our wildlife,
& help preserve our very special ecosystem.
