RECIPES
Black Currant Mint Iced Tea
Ingredients:
• 6 cups water • 6 black tea bags (or 3 tablespoons loose black tea) • 1/2 cup fresh Black Currant Mint leaves, plus extra for garnish • 1/2 cup black currant juice • 1/4 cup honey or sugar (adjust to taste) • Ice for serving
Instructions:
In a large saucepan, bring the water to a boil. Remove from heat and add the black tea bags (or loose tea in a tea infuser). Let the tea steep for 3-5 minutes.
While the tea is steeping, wash the Black Currant Mint leaves and gently bruise them with your fingers to release their aroma and flavor.
After steeping the tea, remove the tea bags or infuser. Add the bruised Black Currant Mint leaves and honey or sugar, stirring well to dissolve the sweetener.
Allow the tea to cool to room temperature, and then strain it through a fine mesh sieve to remove the mint leaves.
In a large pitcher, combine the tea with the black currant juice. Stir well to mix.
Refrigerate the iced tea for at least an hour to chill thoroughly.
